Delhi Metro To Start Trial Run On New Janakpuri West To IGI Airport

The Delhi metro start a new trail run on new Janakpuri west to IGI airport On 13 Km. long track on his upcoming magenta line.



Construction work on this project has been started one year ago.

It was only recently, on November 29, that the DMRC wrapped up all the tunnelling work of Phase 3 by finishing a 1.25-kilometre-long tunnel between Vasant Vihar and Munirka on the Magenta Line.

DMRC has been facing flak for delay in the the launch of Delhi Metro Phase 3, which was supposed to start by end of 2016.

The new trains are set to launch by March 2017, a section of the Phase 3 expansion. 80 trains with 6 coaches will be used to expand Delhi Magenta and Pink line (Mukundpur to Shiv Vihar). The new metros will be driver less, operating fully on automatic model in all its operations.
Meanwhile, the Delhi government is set to give its nod to Phase 4 of the Delhi Metro, which will have six new lines connecting outer parts of the national capital to the center, also forming intersections between various lines.
